Delete from the extension
- Open SmartBookmarks and go to the account and encrypted-sync area.
- Sign in to the Nexamas account you want to delete.
- Choose Delete account and read the confirmation summary.
- When requested, authorize the same Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive account that stores the encrypted vault.
- Confirm deletion. SmartBookmarks first requests deletion of the encrypted cloud vault and verifies that it is gone.
- Only after cloud deletion is confirmed does the service delete the Nexamas account, identity links, trusted devices and active sessions.
What is deleted?
| Data | Result |
|---|
| Encrypted SmartBookmarks cloud vault | Deleted from the selected Google Drive app-data space or OneDrive App Folder and verified before account deletion continues. |
| Nexamas account identity | Deleted after cloud-vault deletion succeeds. |
| Trusted devices and sessions | Deleted or revoked with the account. |
| Local bookmark library on the current device | Not automatically deleted. This protects local-only data from accidental loss. |
Uninstalling is different
Removing the browser extension clears extension-local storage according to browser behavior, but it does not itself instruct the Nexamas account service or cloud provider to delete the account or encrypted vault. Complete account deletion before uninstalling when you want those remote records removed.
When deletion cannot be verified
The current flow is designed to stop rather than claim success when the cloud provider does not confirm that the vault was deleted. Keep the account active, retry with the correct cloud account, and contact support with the displayed error information.
Support-assisted request
When you cannot access the in-product flow, email support_smartbookmarks@nexamas.com from the account email address. Do not send a Recovery Key, password, access token or one-time code. Support may need to verify account ownership and may be unable to delete a third-party cloud vault without authorization from that cloud account.
